I understand that the generator and regulator must be matched together. Is this regulator matched to a Prestolite GGW 7404A generator on a 1955 CJ3B?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Give us a call and ask for Mike M - we can help you.

Is this regulator for a Autolite or Delco generator?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We were selling the Auto lite brand but they are currently not available. We are sourcing other options. Give us a call toll free to see what we have currently. Thanks

i have found a cj-2 how can i tell rather it is 6 or 12 volts no battery no labels on voltage reg does have three wires going to it the generator has no labels on it either looking at the lights and guessing it would be 12 volts but not sure

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Email mike@Kaiserwillys.com some pictures of your engine compartment so we can get an idea of what all is going on.

Good Morning! I have a 1950 Willy's with a 6 volt system. The voltage regulator has the three wire from the generator. I also have a forth connection which is on the top of the regulator that connects to the dash guage. The one in your parts page does not show the forth connection. Is it not showing on your parts page or do I connect the wire going from the dash guage to one of the other three connections?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
That is odd. Send me a photo of your regulator so we can see it. Thanks!

Should the battery post on the regulator be hot all the time?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, that is hot on the regulator.

how do you test a regulator to check is its still works

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Your local automotive electrician can test them for you.

Would this regulator work for a '42 MB that's wired to a 6v system

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, it is for 6 volt but keep in mind its for 35 amp depending on what all your running v.the military which were 40 amp.

My jeep has been converted to a 12 V system. But I want to use my original K.S. gauges. Will this voltage regulator bring the voltage down from 12 V to 6 V? Additionally what are the different terminals on the voltage regulator for?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You'll want to use number 923130 for the 12 volt system. It will still work for your original gauges. Thanks

Where does the ground wire from the harness attach to the regulator?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com and i'll send you over a full schematic to help you. Thanks!

Does this have rubber grommets for the mounting holes?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
No, they are not required.

will this regulator fit inside my factory regulator housing if i remove the parts inside ? Do you know of or offer a solid state regulator that would work for a 1945 mb i would like to keep the stock appearance so a solid state unit would be smaller . Thanks , Adam

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
No this wouldn't for the original style MB regulators. The MB/GPW would use part number: A1409

I have the big boxy regulator on my jeep that has plug ins can I connect this regulator up on that jeep

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
This regulator is for all 12 volt Willys.

Will this regulator work either positive or negative ground system?

Willys Tech:
All willys are negative ground. This is for a negative ground system.

Will voltage regulator part 923131 fit 41-58 jeep?

Willys Tech:
Yes it is proper for you.

I have a 45 gpw and don't want to pay 250+ for the regulator. Will this work.

Willys Tech:
